Review: The plot was pretty average, but the acting was exceptional. Cate paltrow-stole-my-oscar Blanchett leads a strong cast, with a moving and effective performance from Ribisi (most will know him from Gone in 60 Seconds). Katie Holmes is stunning, and once again the screen embraces her. Admittedly, even though the Evil Dead series was utter trash, it was absolute cult utter trash. Seems like Raimi is stuck somewhere in almost arbville. Although this was a step up from A Simple Plan, it certainly will never achieve the cult fame of his earlier works.
