Basic plot outline: A love story entwining the third class Jack Dawson, talented artist, and the upper class Rose DeWitt Bukater, unhappy socialite, through the legendary story of the Titanic, the "unsinkable ship" which elapsed to its watery grave 88 years ago.

Unlike most movies that start and end strongly, and are weak in the middle, i found the titanic a bit slow in the beginning, rather weak in the end...and the middle (all 3 hrs of it) was FANTASTIC!
The best part : the cinematography, the special effects...totally encapsulating and enchanting.
A commercial film that will please the audience and perhaps snatch up an award or too...though probably to the dismay of most discerning critics
